The Aladdin play was an absolutely spectacular show that took place on the 14th and 15th. Under Ms. Trifeletti and Ms. Stroud’s direction, the play was a huge success. This adaptation of the Disney animated play certainly takes the audience to a “whole new world.” As we are welcomed into the enchanted city of Agrabah, we meet our narrators beginning with Arabian Nights. We are also introduced to the wondrously musical streetrat with the glorious voice, Aladdin. He whisks us away into his criminal tendencies to survive in Agrabah. Jasmine graces us with an excellent performance in A Whole New World. Ciara Exantus made us all laugh with her sassy and hilarious reenactment of the beloved Genie character. The ever loved Carpet, played by Josh Johnson brought on the silent amusement to the show. Razul who was played by Jaylyn Manu was the second-hand man to the evilest of them all, Jafar. Iago cracked us all up with his squabbling commentary on everything! And finally, how can we forget the cast members of Agrabah, from the narrators to the cook; we loved them all! Their lively and durable voices reached the ends of the auditorium. Ms. Trifeletti and Ms, Stroud certainly directed an amazing bunch into an even more amazing group of cooperative actors and actresses. The colorful sets, lights and impeccable recreation of Disney’s Aladdin was such a delight and we cannot wait for the next production!
